I Care House Parents

I Care House Parents have begun the National Association of Child Care Worker’s training. The course is going really well and is encouraging House Parents on how to deal with various personal issues and frustrations the boys may face while living in the home.
I Care volunteer Brie recently organized a team building day for the House Parents. On the day, Mother of Peace volunteer Marieke gave the House Parents hockey training and a hockey match quickly ensued. After lunch an interesting discussion evolved on different situations that could occur at the house and how they as House Parents would and should respond. The day was so successful, Brie plans to organise a House Parent Day every month.
Child Safety Officers from Operation Bobbi Bear recently visited I Care House Parents and boys at I Care Christian School, to share with them an interesting presentation about HIV and Aids.
