Real Friends

We recently contacted, via Yellow Pages, a security company to check our electric fencing.
Allway Security Systems responded, completed the job and sent us an invoice which read, amounts deleted: -
1. Call out to attend to electric fence
2. Removed, repaired energiser
3. Refitted energiser and tested
Left site in order
Discount for NPO (I Care) - donation from
staff of Allway - 50%. God Bless.
How wonderful is that? Thank you Allway staff and God Bless you too.

Partnership - I Care and Umphakathi Okhathazekile

A new partnership has been formed between I Care and Umphakathi Okhathazikile, a wonderful Christian Organisation (Concerned Youth) where five of our older boys will spend three months with them. They will receive guidance away from drugs and help towards a positive future. After this the boys will return to I Care's programme for skills development.

The boys, standing at the back are, from left to right, Lucky, Mlungisi, Sihle, Sibonseng and Philani and in front, Busi and Gail from Concerned Youth, Lucia from I Care and Thandazile, also from Concerned Youth.

Salt Rock Hotel

Mnqobi Nqcobo has graduated from the streets into a new career in Travel & Tourism. This is thanks to I Care's Development Programme through which Mnqobi has been studying at Pax College in Durban and has achieved excellent results in his second year with five distinctions.
The Salt Rock Hotel, north of Durban offered him a position as porter, cleaner and waiter during his December break and he has proved to be a willing and happy worker.
Mnqobi will be returning to college at the end of January to complete the final six months of his course.

Here's wishing everybody a Happy, Healthy, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year from everyone at I Care. Here are some of the staff members, enjoying a braai - barbecue to non South Africans - just before leaving for their Christmas break.
