Friends

Apart from our very kind friends who donate money, there is a group of wonderful people who donate "in kind".
We would like these people to know that their donations are every bit as welcome as rands and cents and that without their generosity we would find it even harder to look after the childrens' needs.
Every week we receive cold meats from Warren Rebeeck of Mr. Mozzie, perishable goods such as vegetables, fruit and meats from Vinay Lachman of Chipworld and bread for the Hope Centre from Peter Tsilimigras at the Continental Bakery. Each month we receive foodstuffs from SA Fasteners, Pako in Verulum, Tongaat Sugar and our very good friend, Mr. G. Naidu. Merlog Foods send frozen chicken and vegetables and Mplilende gives us porridge. All these are so welcome. Lastly we must acknowledge the other donations - Triumph Printers take care of all our printing, especially our Newsletters, The Inkdrop doesn't charge us for re-filling all our ink cartridges and Pak 'n Stax gives us toothbrushes for all the boys.
There also many friends who remember I Care when they are discarding good quality clothing, bedding, books, toys, furniture and other household goods.
To all of you - our most grateful thanks. Your generosity is much appreciated.

Book Launch

200 people attended the book launch for Helana Olivier's book "Stories of Real Hope" at our aptly named "Hope Centre" on 4 August 2009. We would like to suggest that everyone reads these stories. They are inspiring.

Shelley Miller

Shelley Miller, who has been associated with I Care for many years, is generously donating the proceeds from the sale of her two books, "Heart of Stone", an e-book, to be launched soon and "Children of our Land" a little later. Shelley has moved to England and will not only give via her writing but will also be responsible for fundraising for I Care in U.K. If you would like to contact her, her e-mail address is shellmiller@gmail.com.

Roundtable

ROUNDTABLE Southern Africa held a very special event on Saturday, 30 May. They asked the public to please purchase blankets and then donate them to The Winter Knights for distribution - via I Care - to disadvantaged people to help to keep them warm during the winter months. The end result was mind-blowing! Over 1,000 blankets were donated and all this was due to the fantastic efforts of the Durban and South Coast Round Tablers. They gave of their time and their energies and we at I Care applaud them for it.

Winter Warmth

This is a picture of the poster asking the public to donate blankets, warm clothing etc to help the less fortunate people in Durban to get through the cold nights. We can snuggle down under our duvets to keep warm but some of the children in the streets haven't even got shoes. Please help.
